FAQs
Can I board at NDSH if me and my horse are not in training?
At this time NDSH is set up for young horses and riding age horses in training. We do not take riding age horses not in a training package or retired horses at this time.
What happens if i am out of town?
Training sessions consist of either a lesson, a training ride, or a combination of the two. It all depends on the rider’s and horse’s individual needs and goals. If you normally take 5 lessons per week and go out of town your horse will still get work and will have 5 training rides instead. This give the ability to create tailored training programs for each horse and rider.
What If i have no show aspirations?
Thats fine! While we do have shows planned throughout out the year you do not have to participate to be a part of the team. We value the correct training of horse and rider, believing that good riding makes happy horses. Wether that is at home or in the show ring.
What is the turn out set up?
At NDSH each stall has its own attached dry lot to which horses have 24/7 access, unless there is a necessary circumstance. Horses also receive turn out in small groups of 2-3 in one of our pastures. Horses needing individual turn out may also be turned out in the pastures but may receive a shorter amount of turnout time. NDSH firmly believes every horse need time to be a horse.
What type of horses does NDSH take into training?
NDSH takes dressage horses in training. That may be a young horse who comes in to be started from the early stages, a retraining project, or a schooled horse needing to be maintained or progressed.
NDSH specializes in:
Young horse inspection preparation for stallion and mare performance testing
Adult Amateurs with their own personal horse looking to learn and progress in dressage
Sales horses needing training and presentation to find their new partner
